Level
III armor protects passengers from handguns and light submachine
guns such as 9mm., .357 magnum.
In response to a requirement by the Nigerian
Government, WorldWide Armor Services and International Armoring
Corporation have delivered a quantity of the 1998 Peugeot 605
4 door saloons to the government of Nigeria.
|

Peugeot vehicles armored
to Level III for use
by Nigerian government officials.
|
| These vehicles were upfitted with Level
III armoring which under the UL 752 standards for bullet resistant
materials provided a protection level against handguns and light
submachine guns such as 9mm., .357 magnum, .44 magnum and similar
calibers and weapons. The PPG glass is aprox 1 inch thick and the
opaque armor materials used in the roof, floor and lateral areas
of the vehicle is based upon an aramid reinforced composite. This
material, when compared to the areal density of steel, is approximately
one third its weight.
|
Benefiting from such lighter-weight
materials, the vehicles original performance is not greatly affected
and with the final fit and finish which is provided by International
Armoring Corporation craftsmen, the end product is as original in
appearance as it was when it first came to the plant from the Peugeot
factory.
Such criteria as trim details and the performance of the vehicle
is so vital in making a determination of which models will be
best applicable to which levels of armor and this is ane ssential
element in the qualification process which all new clients
|
undergo when they are consulting with WorldWide Armor Services.
Vehicles such as this model are available from Sodexa, the
export sales agency for Peugeot in Paris, France, or, can be
delivered from the Peugeot assembly licensee in Lagos, Nigeria.
This is particular convenient, especially if the customer is
from the West African region.
